About Dr. Tooth Books

Different stages in a child’s life, give rise to different questions about dental development and dental care.   Dr. Tooth Books was created by A.S. Mireku to guide both parent and child through these interesting, sometimes awkward, dental stages using the timeless activity of reading a good book.  We aim to create awareness and to educate parents and children about healthy oral development and care in a fun and friendly manner.

About the Author:

A.S. Mireku is an endodontist by profession.  An endodontist is a specialized dentist that focuses on the treatment of factors affecting the roots of teeth and the health inside of teeth.  When teeth have an injury involving the internal structures (ex. a cavity, a trauma, a natural defect, etc.), an endodontist aims to repair the injury.  The endodontist’s goal, along with your general dentist, is to restore the tooth and help you maintain and keep that tooth whenever possible, for as long as possible. 

A.S. Mireku received her general dental education at the University of Michigan and her endodontic specialty education at the University of Maryland.  She aims to use her dental expertise to increase dental awareness and to promote the health and maintenance of teeth and the oral cavity as a whole.

In her free time, she enjoys creating, cooking, trying to improve her amateur violin skills, and spending time with family and friends.
